“Smart, Chic & Made in the USA” spotlights American-made clothing for professional women and their families. This “Weekend Edition” features something that you’ll love to wear when you’re not in the office.
I’m always on the lookout for a pretty new dress by Three Dots, and I love this Shirred Faux-Wrap Dress that just came out for fall. This casual faux-wrap design in a bold floral print looks very flattering and easy to wear. The cinched waist creates shape and the shirring at the waist is pretty – but not overdone (which can add weight). There is also some pretty shirring on the sleeves. The fabric is viscose/spandex. This fabric has worked beautifully for my Three Dots Dress in Deep Lilac, which I have washed and worn a lot this summer.
The black background makes the vibrant floral print look modern and sophisticated. The print also doesn’t look too busy to me – which is a notable accomplishment given the abundance of multi-colored flowers. The design and print also make this dress very versatile – you could dress it down for a casual outing or dress it up to go out to dinner. The Three Dots Shirred Faux-Wrap Dress is Made in the USA from imported fabric and machine-washable. The dress is available from Neiman Marcus for $132.
(One last note about sizing: Three Dots often runs a little small and I usually wear one size up from my normal size.)
And, this is a fantastic example of a dress that would look lovely with a pointy toe flat (the focus of yesterday’s post). But is it a coincidence that this dress would look particularly lovely with the spectacular purple and gold pointy toe flat that is currently at the top of my wish list? (Pictured here: the VC Signature Carrie Flat in Port Snakeskin that was featured yesterday.) Probably not.
