Professional, Smart & Chic – Lovely Peplum Tops for Fall 2012

A work-appropriate look you can get excited about.

I’ve been a fan of peplums for years, so it’s been exciting to see so many different tops, blazers, skirts and dresses with peplums this year – a trend that will continue into Spring 2013.

What’s so great about a peplum? The combination of a fitted top with a flare at the waist is feminine, elegant and flattering for a lot of different figures. A peplum can either accentuate an hourglass shape on a woman with a curvy figure or create an hourglass shape on a women with a more athletic frame. I’ve found peplum tops to be the most versatile addition to my wardrobe – you can easily dress them up for the office or dress them down for the weekend. Additional benefits of peplum tops: they are designed to be worn untucked (an issue that was addressed in yesterday’s Commandress post) and they are generally very comfortable to wear.
