Professional, Smart & Chic – Jones New York Signature Paisley Print Dress

A work-appropriate look you can get excited about.

Today’s featured item is courtesy of Reader A, who wrote to tell me about this fantastic Jones New York Signature Paisley Print Faux Wrap Dress that she purchased this weekend:

It is perfect because it hits right above the knee. I like the print because it isn’t too feminine. As my co-workers greeted me this morning they all admired it. It’s washable, which is a big deal to me. And, the price is right!

Wow, I love the gorgeous paisley print (also a fun trend this fall) and I am so pleased to hear that the dress has been a great success in person too – thank you Reader A! The Jones New York Signature Paisley Print Faux Wrap Dress is available from Macy’s for $75.65 (AND receive an extra 20% off with code SHOP through 8/25/12; regularly $89). The dress is also available from Macy’s in plus size for $94.

Macy’s has a great selection of Jones New York print dresses right now. Here are a few more to admire – including petite and plus size dresses:

These are all fantastic dresses! I’m particularly thrilled to see so many professional dresses (including the beautiful BOSS dress from yesterday) with short or long sleeves. It’s become a pet peeve of mine that so many professional clothes for women are sleeveless. I’ve never felt comfortable going sleeveless in the office – it feels like too much skin in a professional setting (especially when I’m surrounded by men whose arms are completely covered) and, anyway, it’s usually too cold inside (thanks, A/C). So I end up having to cover up the dress/shirt with a jacket – what a waste. All this to say: Hooray for sleeves!

I’m so pleased to see that there are options in plus sizes, too. I hope that’s something you’ll continue to mention when it’s applicable, because it can be so hard to find good clothes in larger sizes. I know there are websites that specialize in plus size fashions, but it just seems like we should have reached a point where these things can be integrated – great clothes for a range of figures!

Yes!!! I’m always happy to include plus sizes and petites – they are tags (on the right) if you want to see more. Cool that JNY offers pretty print dresses in all sizes – and seems to choose the styles for each size category very thoughtfully.
